About Me
I’ve had two passions for as long as I can remember, writing and music. Until recently, I haven’t known how to bring those together in a way that serves God, as well as people. Starting this blog is my way of bringing all of those things together into what I hope can be a source of encouragement and inspiration.
Ministry of Joy is how I hope to share my knowledge and connect with other like minded people. I want to be a resource to others, no matter where in their journey they may be, and in return I hope to learn from others and their experiences. The content that I write will be a culmination of my own experiences and ideas, as well as things I have learned along the way, advice I’ve been given and encouragement I want to pass on.
I grew up in the church, my parents are both devout Christians who instilled me with Biblical wisdom and a desire to faithfully follow Christ. From upper elementary through high school I attended Christian schools that also encouraged my walk with God. It was during those years that God put a single passion in my heart for music. Music became and still is the passion I pursue daily.
What about writing? Writing is just a thing I have always done, my parents tell me that at 4 years old I was already trying to write my own books. I love words and maybe that’s why I could embrace a calling for music. Words are so extremely powerful, even in Scripture it tells us that. Words set to music though are their own level of power. Scripture set to music just has this extra emotional and spiritual stirring power, at least for me it does. Many people have asked, why not write music? I wish! I wish God had given me that skill, I can create some lyrics, I can create an ok instrumental piece, but putting them together is not something God has gifted me to do. Maybe someday, but for now I want to engage with people through words to talk more about music worship arts ministry.
That’s my story! Tell me yours over on the discussion page
